Say Words

I LUUUUURVE this picture of Miri and Megan. Here are the reasons:

1. Their faces. Above all, their faces. They are classic happy Miri and Megan faces. Like truly joyous, sincerely happy laughing faces. In fact, I wonder if Miri laughed hard enough to start crying a little. She does that a lot and it usually starts off with this face.

2. The M&M pjs. M&Ms will forever remind me of Megan and Miri. They made it their thing and I will think of them whenever I see something M&M related probably until the day I die. The thought of that makes me happy.

3. Miri's hat. What is that hat? haha. I mean, it's a cute hat, I just like how it's only half on her head. I'm pretty sure I have pictures of myself like that with new Christmas hats.

4. The old apartment. I have so many fond memories of 154. The girls, the quote wall, the horrible couches, loving the horrible couches because we knew there were worse ones out there, the open and welcome feeling. I spent a large portion of my last years of college in this apartment and will always miss the feeling of just walking in there and finding someone to talk to/get a jamba with/watch awesome movies with/etc.

So here's to Megan and Miri who I miss ever so. I heart them. Like, a lot.

a hug

i love when miri showers me with blog comments. those are the best days. i heart her.

"Anyone can *read* the news *to* you. What I plan to do is *feel* the news *at* you."

First of all, I like that Mike and Miri have discovered the awesomeness of one Mr. Stephen T. Colbert. He really is funny. I promise.

You just have to rememeber it is a character and admire the amazing job Colbert does in staying in character so seamlessly. He rarely cracks - and when he does it's hilarious. I can't even imagine saying some of the things he says with such conviction and maintaining a straight face. Wow.

Also, I wholeheartedly agree with the following statement made on The Colbert Report: Equations are the devil's sentences!
It's like he knows my inner most thoughts...from high school at least.

Secondly, I had to have an MRI for some jaw problems I've been having. Have you had one of those? Not fun. You can't move a muscle for like 30 minutes. That is hard! AND it is tiny in there. I think I am a little claustrophobic. I didn't think it would bug me, but I had to sing hymns in my head to keep my mind off the small space and loud noises. ick.

That's what the machine looks like. Only the one I was in wasn't as new or nice looking and the room wasn't as inviting. It was kind of dark and, honestly, a little disorganized. The nurse was nice though so that was a plus. Anyway, avoid MRIs...they suck.

say words

Like so many of you, I text. I'm a texter. I don't text like the kids text nowadays with all of your fyi, btw, bff, neway, n, y, etc. craziness, but it's safe to say that texting played a big part in helping me maintain friendships after I moved back home. It kept the lines of communication open (this was before everyone started blogging) and it kept things simple and relatively up to date. It's nice to know that you can always send a text whether it's just to say hello or to tell some urgent news or just to say "a hug".

Being a texter and having the friends I have, I have received quite a few random and funny texts. Being a sentimental sap who misses her friends, I have a bunch saved on my phone. I'm going to share those with you. Some of them stretch back to the summer I was still in Provo (July 2006) - that's two years ago, pretty much about the same time I bought the phone I have now. There's no reason why I've saved more than others from certain people (Megan and Curt) besides that those two people text me most often (other than Lauren, Alyssa and Christy - who mostly text me about everyday stuff like lunch and where to meet and what we are doing Friday night).

Miri:
"I'm pretty sure I was just groped by a girl." - from a concert (one of the ones I have kept the longest because it makes me laugh a lot)

Crinners:
"Oh honey...I'm gonna get get get u drunk. Get u love drunk off my hump! So...watcha gonna do w/ all that *** inside them jeans?!" - that would be a quote from "My Humps" by The Black Eyed Peas, which according to Will Ferrel is "provocative"

Curt: (disclaimer - Curt sends really funny random texts that make me pretty happy. Most of the ones I've kept have no context anymore or are inside jokes)
"It's a crowd pleaser."
"It's not my fault im so romantic!"
"My favorite's Gouda! (ha, my T9 didn't know how to spell Gouda)"
"I'll just throw my poem away then :)"
"I'm in line at graduation and i want to see it too - but i don't have cable yet." (yeah - he was texting me while in line at graduation AND from his sister's wedding while I was in MD watching HSM2)
"I'm fake standing in line at my sis wedding reception." "It sucks." "Having to fake liking it is the worst."
"It's okay, we're all in this together."
"Well sometimes life is hard, just not today."
"I kinda hate troy right now." (that would be a couple days after graduation when he got the chance to watch HSM2)
"I'm bored at work." (this was when I was trying not to text him because I was bored but knew he was working - like the exact same moment.)
"You're like my non-identical identical twin." "I think we should be on tv. and you should move back so we won't be bored anymore."
"You matter"

Megan:
"[Miri] just walked in and said, 'why is Prince William on my bed?'"
"Hehe. I like you."
"Hey, I'll be next door in the book house. We'll be sharing a wall so we have more space."
"Indeed. But we'll huddle for warmth and read about Edward and the cold will be more bearable."
"Well, way to look for meaning in crappiness. I'm proud of you."
"Quote of the day, from our dishwasher at work who is at least 70 - Marilyn: What are you doing, Jim? Jim: Whoever I can and the easy ones twice."
"Did I already tell you about seeing James McAvoy on Leno and hearing his amazing real accent or did I just think about it?"

Ben:
"I'd stick a peach pit in my bum for you."
"I miss you too, Mr. Lindle."

Krissie:
"delirium because of the amount of raging emotion pulsing in your veins from the closeness in proximity to a certain other party."
"I LOVE YOU"

There are more that I wish I had kept - especially some from Miri and my sister. Lauren texts me so much though I can't possibly save any of them. I like the ones telling me how cute my nephews are. Things along the line of letting me know that Monkey is singing his Jesus song, reading his Zizi book or Bug needs Zizi's "magic" arms.

So there you have it, my very random and funny friends send me very random and funny texts. I love it. They rock.
